    Product Description

The Graham Slee 2 Communicator sets a benchmark for budget phono stage performance, designed for moving magnet (MM) or high output moving coil (MC) cartridges (of 2mV to 8mV nominal output). This phono stage is an excellent upgrade over the standard 'Phono' or 'Disc' turntable input on most amplifiers, which is often just a cheap PCB and offers a more significant upgrade than most sub £100 phono stages.

The result of many years of development, this is the MkIII Communicator, which features several upgrades over original models. These improvements have reduced noise and distortion to a level much lower than most phono stages at this level, allowing you to equally enjoy quieter and louder musical moments. As a result, this model fully 'Communicates' every aspect of the music.

    Press Reviews

    • "The box may be basic but the sound is anything but – highly recommended. It doesn’t look like much and it doesn’t feel like much, but the Graham Slee Gram Amp 2 ‘Communicator’ is a brilliant little box. It keeps things simple: it’s a moving-magnet phono stage, with one set of inputs and one set of outputs. It’s fast, organised and dynamic, too – although you will get a bit more power and weight from (more expensive) rivals. Low on frills, high on quality, Graham Slee's aptly-named Communicator comes highly recommended." (What Hi-Fi Magazine Awards October 2013)

    • "The fact that this phono stage stands the test of time against renewed opposition only heightens our admiration for its performance... Class-leading levels of detail, Brilliant timing, Expressive, with a sweet spot for dynamics in the upper registers." (What Hi-Fi Magazine April 2018)

    • "The role it plays is singular but significant, and it performs it with vigour. It’s difficult to imagine a more detailed presentation from a phono stage for the money. There are rivals with an equally wide soundstage, but they perhaps don’t shine the spotlight so intensely on each strand. That’s irrespective of arrangement or recording." (What Hi-Fi Magazine April 2018)

    • "Detail is where the Gram Amp stands out most against its nearest competitors but it tackles most other facets of performance at least as well. Timing is as precise and articulate as we could hope for... It’s a force dynamically as well, especially in the upper register. Melodies dominating the upper mid-range and treble are handled with more expression than most rivals and though perhaps not as startling a couple of octaves down, the Gram Amp refuses to neglect dynamics and varying intensities in the baritone and bass." (What Hi-Fi Magazine April 2018)

    • "Graham Slee doesn’t have a vault full of its products ready for shipping, with many of its units built to order. That means you may not be plugging your phono stage into your system quite as soon as if you would if you’d bought from a bigger brand, but we can testify to it being well worth any wait. Rarely are we so pleased when testing a five-year-old product to find it sounding just as sweet as we remember. The Gram Amp remains a class-leader." (What Hi-Fi Magazine April 2018)
