Product Description
Bluesound Node X streamer is an improved version of the already very well respected Node Gen 3 streamer. It has been created to celebrate Bluesound’s tenth anniversary and features many improvements designed for even better performance.
The most obvious change is the stunning new silver finish. The DAC had also been upgraded to an audiophile ESS Sabre, while the headphone amp now has THX AAA certification, making it an excellent choice for direct headphones listeners as well. Or as most users do, add this into your existing hi-fi system or add to active speakers to add a wide range of streaming options.
Node X is the perfect blend of great audio, quality, price and convenience – along with excellent connectivity, including a good range of digital and analogue inputs and outputs.
Why stream music?
Streamers act as an interface between music sources, such as online radio stations or streaming services like Tidal and hi-fi equipment that does not have built-in streaming capability. Node X also has the benefit of being multi room capable when used alongside other Bluesound speakers.
The Bluesound Node X will modernise your existing hi-fi system, this can be a stand-alone unit or a set of active speakers. Access hundreds of online radio stations as well as streaming services such as Tidal, Spotify, Deezer, Qobuz and many more. You can also access your own locally stored music files. You can control playback and music access via the BluOS controller app, which can be installed on iOS, Android or Mac devices.
Upgraded DAC and headphone amp.
The audiophile ESS 9028Q2M Sabre DAC has remarkable musicality as well as very low levels of clock jitter. Furthermore, the design is ultra-low-noise and has a wide dynamic range. The headphone amplifier is a high end design with a full size 6.3mm headphone socket. It uses a THX Achromatic Audio Amplifier (THX AAATM). This technology delivers very low noise levels as well as low distortion. The sound is smooth, for fatigue free listening.
Versatile connectivity
As well as the internal DAC you also have the option to connect Node X to an external DAC via optical or coaxial outputs. There is also a USB socket for connecting to external devices. Connectivity also includes Wi-Fi as well as wired Ethernet. Apple Airplay 2 is supported as well a aptX HD Bluetooth. There is also a 3.5mm analogue input as well as RCA connectors for the output to your audio system.
LED touch panel control
Node X features an intuitive LED touch panel control. The control panel is on top of the unit and features a touchpoint for quick access controls. These include play, pause, track skipping and volume. There are also one-touch pre-sets for your most used functions. Pre-sets are also available on the supplied remote control.
Multi-room experience
Multi-room refers to having speakers in a number of different rooms in your home. Each can be fed a different source or the same source. For example, you can listen to a radio station in the kitchen and a music track in the lounge, at the same time. The sound is sent via your home Wi-Fi network. The Node X uses the BluOS platform that can send to up to 64 playback devices. Moreover the unit supports hi-res files up to 24bit.
Who are Bluesound?
Bluesound are more than just an equipment manufacturer, they have their own eco-system built around the BluOS app. As a result, the Node can communicate with a range of compatible devices to bring hi-res digital music to your home. The Bluesound ethos is to obtain the best possible audio quality at an affordable price.
