Product Description
Cabasse Pearl Akoya wireless speaker is a beautiful spherical design that boasts several innovations and is a smaller alternative to the original Pearl, a jewel of a speaker that can fill a room with quality sound. It features coaxial drivers and impressive bass.
Connectivity is good with analogue as well as digital inputs and hi-res streaming files is possible with the StreamControl app. There is also a carry case available separately so that you can take the speaker on the move with you or on holiday. There are also some stunning custom made stands available separately that allow you to display Pearl Akoya at it’s best.
Versatile listening from multiple sources
Pearl Akoya can play from a multitude of streaming services, via the StreamControl app. This can be installed on Apple and Android devices. The app also offers voice control as well as multiroom connection and automatic calibration. Room sizes from 20 - 32 square meters are best suited to this well specified active speaker. Finally, there is a custom designed stand as well as wall mounting brackets.
Hi-res streaming and AirPlay 2
The Pearl Akoya can be used in multiroom systems via the Cabasse StreamCONTROL app. This allows you to stream the same song to all the Cabasse speakers, or send a separate song to each room. The built-in DAC can play all formats, from MP3 to high definition files with no lag.
This wireless speaker is also compatible with Airplay 2. This allows Apple iOS devices to connect via the Airplay 2 app, for direct streaming. The Akoya is also small enough to transport. Take it with you on holiday, in the custom built carry case. Hi-fi on the move, with ease.
Cabasse triaxial drivers
Cabasse are renowned for their triaxial drivers. Each speaker has more that one cone placed on top of each other. This creates a single point source sound, that makes them compact as well as powerful. The bass unit has a 170mm cone with a large excursion.
As a result the amount of bass is amazing, for such a compact unit. Furthermore, the dynamic bass control enhances this even more. A thermal radiator prevents distortion, even at high volume. Finally, this spherical speaker provides 360 degree sound.
Stylish stands for great presentation
The Pearl Akoya is a stylish speaker. Now you can enhance it even more with the custom designed heavy metal stands (available separately). Show the Pearl Akoya off at it’s best with these 70cm high, curved stands. They are available separately in either black or white. Add a touch of class to your room. There are also black or white wall mounts for a versatile and practical solution.
Bluetooth remote with a twist
The Akoya comes with a unique round Bluetooth remote. Adjust the volume by rotating the outer ring. There are also programmable buttons, that allow you to control play, pause and radio streaming.
Powerful class D amplifiers and good connectivity
The Akoya’s amplifier set has a wide frequency response from 30Hz to 27 kHz as well as up to 450 watts of power. Moreover, the THD is only 0.005%. There are connections for wired Ethernet as well as an optical digital input. Next, a USB port is provided for external hard drives and connection to a PC. Finally, RCA inputs are also provided.
Why class D amplifiers?
Until relatively recently most amplifiers were linear designs. These use bi-polar transistors for the output. They provide good quality but are power hungry and generate heat. This is a problem with active speakers that are usually compact. As a result class D amplifiers were developed, these use MOS-FET transistors, that can switch at High frequencies. This gives an efficiency of up to 90%. This type of amplifier can provide high-power levels with low heat generation.
