Product Description
Creek Audio's Sequel Mk4 is a Phono board-module that allows you to connect your turntable to your amplifier so you can play all your favourite Vinyl records. The Sequel mk4 Phono module has been designed to work with many of Creek's amplifiers, specifically the Voyage i20, but if even if you are using the Evolution 50A, the 100A or something dating back to 1993, and you want to incorporate vinyl into to your system then this is what you need.
Why the Sequel Mk4?
Vinyl has become an extremely popular way to listen to music again, but few amplifiers are equipped to handle it as standard due to how Vinyl signals are processed. The usual requirement to combat this is to buy a separate (stand-alone) pre-amp unit to boost the signal level and change the frequency response according to the RIAA standard. This is, however, providing the turntable doesn't already have a built in pre-amp of it's own.
In 1990, Creek Audio took the decision to leave out Phono pre-amp circuitry from its integrated and pre-amplifier designs, as Vinyl was in decline, leaving the option to fit a plug-in module if you so wished. Now that Vinyl is back in fashion, why not upgrade you system? The Sequel Mk4, when installed, will fit in a slot that will change the auxiliary line input into a Phono input.
What does it work with?
The Sequel mk4 has been developed to be flexible enough to match a wide-range of MM and high-output MC cartridges. It is not suitable for medium to low output MC cartridges, which require lower matching impedance and higher gain.
Users also have the ability to switch the gain between 40dB and 50dB, select between 100pF or 200pF input capacitance and IEC low frequency roll-off, with a simple piano switch on the PCB. The Mk4 is suitable for use with the following Creek Integrated amps and pre-amps from 1993 onwards.
The compatible list is Evolution 100A and Evolution 50A, Destiny 2, Evolution 2, Evolution 5350, Classic 5350 SE, 5350 SE, 5350 R and 5350, 5250, 5250 R and 5250 SE, 4330, 4330 R and 4330 SE, 4240 and 4240 SE. P42 Pre-amp.
Please Note:
The Sequel mk4 must be installed in the Voyage i20 amplifier by the supplying dealer or Creek Audio for health and safety reasons. The Sequel mk4 can be installed in all other models safely by the user, if required.
The Sequel mk4 Phono pre-amp cannot be fitted to the balanced input Destiny 1 integrated amp, because its connections to the pre-amp were unique. However, an interface adapter can be made to order to enable a Sequel mk4 to be plugged into a Destiny 1.
