Product Description
Dali Opticon 2 Mk2 is a mid-sized stand-mount speaker (the larger of the two Opticon stand-mount models) that has been revised with Dali's latest technology to deliver better audio quality than ever before.
The true two-way performer is equipped with a 6½" woofer, a 29 mm soft dome tweeter and a newly introduced dual flare reflex loaded enclosure that provides great quality audio.
Opticon 1 or 2?
The Opticon 2 Mk2 is a very flexible speaker designed to be ideal for medium-sized rooms, just like the Opticon 1. The advantage of the Opticon 2, however, is its capability to handle higher sound pressure levels, due to the larger 6½" woofer size, perfect for large orchestra works and pop music.
It has a slightly larger enclosure, only 90mm taller and 47mm wider, but the additional space only helps reinforce low-end frequencies with the dual reflex port. This is very useful if you choose to place them in a larger room in the future, as this versatile speaker will still carry the sound.
Opticon Range
Dali's Opticon Mk2 series has been revised to make sure Opticon speakers deliver the best sound for the buck. Sitting above Dali's Spektor and Oberon ranges it is essentially designed to offer better performances than the entry-level ranges, and at cheaper prices than the higher ranges.
New technologies
A new lightweight 29mm soft dome tweeter, derived from Callisto C series, has been introduced across the mk2 series, which offers significant advances over the previous 28mm tweeters in the Mk1 series such as lower distortion and higher power handling.
On the Opticon 2 this is combined with the 6½" driver, which is designed to produce low-loss, low distortion and low colouration. The mix of paper and wood fibre used for the diaphragm gives it the distinctive DALI trademark colour.
A revised dual flare port has also been introduced across the whole Opticon range that ensures the Mk2's low-end performance is fully optimised. Dual Flare uses the previously unused acoustic output from the rear of its bass driver to improve its lower frequency response.
The Look
The Opticon 2 Mk2 remains fully Danish as both the cabinet, along with all the other hardware, are made in Denmark, you can be ensured that the quality throughout this whole product is Dali guaranteed.
To add to the sonic qualities and visual aesthetic, the Opticon 2 Mk2 speakers are built in pairs to allow you to have a very pleasing visual partnership and an almost 'identical' even sound. The three finishes are Satin Black, Tobacco Oak and Satin White.
