Focal Aria 948 loudspeakers are the ultimate floorstanding speakers in the Aria range, ideal for large rooms and high end AV systems. Featuring a 3-way design with 21cm speaker drivers, the Aria 948 effortlessly deliver rich and rhythmic bass coupled with impressive soundstaging.
The Aria 948 offers stunning midrange to treble transition thanks to the unison betwen the Flax drivers and TNF tweeters, resulting in an immensely musical and coherent sound reproduction through the entire frequency spectrum. The TNF tweeter features poron suspension, equalling a smoother sound, and thanks to the polyurethane tweeter plate with waveguide horizontal directivity and sound imaging are pinpoint and precise.
The employment of flax fibre driver cones results in an immensely natural sound with impressive dynamics and presence, while its rigidity in the bass cone results in a rich and articulate bass performance. The incredible scale and dynamics of the Aria 948 is enhanced further by the multiple-port powerflow system resulting in no dynamic compression and offering more depth and impact due to the front-facing port and floor-facing vent.
As with the rest of the rest of the Aria range, the Aria 948 features a premium fit and design - utilising high quality noble materials throughout and an exquisite design, from the leather front and back panel, to the aluminium alloy base. Cabinet design is also superb - ultra-rigid and up to an inch thick, the Aria 948's cabinet achieves neutrality and very little vibration, and looks simply stunning.

I own a pair of these alongside a lot of Cyrus Signature components, including their Mono X 300 Signatures which can make a lot of noise. These speakers demand that I demonstrate this. It is difficult to play music quietly when you own a pair of these although I am sure you can.
Bass is particularly impressive alongside the overall soundstage which really fills the room with accurate reproductions of the instrumentation, presenting the detail whilst making it all coherently musical.
Needless to say, I am delighted with the new speakers. They really pack a sonic punch.
