Product Description
HiFi Man Audivina headphones are a high end studio reference closed back design. The wooden earcups are designed to provide a wide soundstage with detail and intimacy.
The advanced acoustical design uses the Neo Supernano diaphragms and a curved resonance chamber to deliver excellent sound quality. The new Supernano diaphragm is thinner than ever before for an accurate and responsive sound.
The hybrid headband is made of CNC machined metal with a leather inner to be supremely comfortable.
Resonance Chamber inspired by the Bayreuth Festival Theatre
The Resonance chamber of the HiFi Man Audivina headphones is inspired by the Bayreuth Festival theatre in Germany. The multi-stage-attenuation of the auditorium adds to the wide detailed soundstage. The Bayreuth is a small theatre and is a good inspiration for designing the internal space of a headphone’s resonance chamber. The headphones have an airy sound, without the closed in effect normally associated with headphones.
Neo Supernano diaphragm (NsD)
The new NsD diaphragm is 80% thinner than previous designs, for an even more dynamic and responsive sound. The diaphragm is only 1-2 microns thick and sets new standards. The Audivina’s full range design means that they can be used for studio monitoring, without a lack of bass. They have the soundstage of open backed headphones with the precision of studio headphones.
Stealth magnets
The design of the driver actually uses two magnets, one to either side of the diaphragm. This means that solid magnets cannot be used. As a result, the HiFi Man Audivina headphones use a stealth strip design. This allows the sound to pass through without diffraction and distortion.
Quality construction
The wooden earcups feel like jade to the touch. However, the natural pores of the wood are visible through the varnish. The headband is a hybrid design with a CNC machined spring and a leather inner. The spring is hand polished. The input on each earcup is a 3.5mm socket, allowing several different cables to be used with a different connector on the other end, depending on what you’re connecting it to. The earpads are made from an eco-friendly leatherette material, with breathing holes.
Headphone leads and connectors
There is a wide range of cables and connectors in use for headphones. The most common type is the 6.3mm plug and the smaller 3.5mm plug. These types of connectors are not balanced. There are also a number of balanced connectors in use such as the XLR balanced connector. The Audivina includes all three of these cable types.
