Kestrel Audio was founded in 2023 by 22-year-old William Turrell. Initially, three turntables are available. They have been well received by audiophiles and the Hi-Fi press. Wooden plinths are used for the Kestrel turntable range. The company's ethos is to produce the best sound performance, allied with good build quality and excellent durability. All of the turntables have a quality, low-profile look.

Kestrel Audio has three quality turntables on offer.The KT50, KT00 and the KT200. They all come with tonearms by Talk Electronics. The KT50 is the entry-level model and is the only turntable that comes with a cartridge. That is the well-respected Zephyr C50. Notably, this cartridge has a carbon fibre cantilever. All of the turntables will need an external phono pre-amp. Acrylic platters are also used by all models. This is a dense material that has a high mass and will resist any speed variations. The output is provided by a couple of RCA sockets and the power is provided by an external PSU.

The KT100 turntable features a carbon fibre Talk A5 arm. These are uni-pivot designs with a pinpoint bearing that is very free moving. They also have VTA and azimuth adjustments. This enables the performance to be optimized with any type of cartridge. As with the rest of the range two finishes are available, high gloss Makassar or satin walnut.

The top-of-the-line KT 200 has a thicker and heavier platter with a larger ceramic bearing and the A5 Talk arm. The KT200 also has a larger plinth as well as a custom 24V low noise, low vibration motor. All the models come with a clear Z-type dust cover. Another point of note is the length of the arm which is 10”. That is 1” longer than usual, the result is better tracking.
