If you want to see why Grandview screens are so great, consider screens with a gain of 1.6 or 1.7, (the amount of light reflected off the screen) these can create a lot of ambient light which wreaks havoc with contrast levels that are cruical to a home cinema's image quality. Therefore, consideration for ambient light is why many Grandview screens have an optimal gain of 1.1.

The superior tab tensioned models are constructed from a different material to their non tab-tensioned alternatives. While non tab tensioned models preserve tension using a heavy bar on the bottom of the screens, tab tensioned models employ tabs along the side to keep the screen taut from the edges and retain a continuous tension. Material therefore must be more flexible to enable it to be kept taut from the sides as well as the bottom.

Further improvements Grandview consider includes the roller within the casing, because if this is not fully effective or slightly sags in the middle, a v-shaped creasing can result on the screen overtime which would be difficult to remove.
