Product Description
iFi Audio Neo iDSD is a compact integrated headphone amplifier and DAC with MQA and Bluetooth LDAC capability. Connect to a integrated or preamp using the fixed-level analogue output or use it as a DAC/preamp with a variable output.
It is the ideal companion to a power amp or active speakers and headphone users will love the excellent amplifier stage that creates a great ‘head-fi’ system and delivers immersive listening or gaming sessions.
Why the Neo iDSD?
The Neo iDSD sits between iFi Audio's flagship Pro Series and entry-level Zen series and has been designed for maximum flexibility at home. The build design allows it to be positioned horizontally or vertically (the latter using a supplied stand) and its OLED display flips automatically to suit the preferred orientation.
What can iFi Neo-iDSD do?
iFi Audio has made the Neo-iDSD to be as flexible as possible for however you choose to use it. It can be used can be used in three ways:
- As a pure DAC (Digital Analogue Converter) with a fixed-level analogue output to connect to a separate integrated amp or preamp in an audio system.
- As a DAC/preamp with a variable output. The ideal companion to a power amp or active speakers.
- Headphone users will love using the excellent amp stage to create a fabulous ‘head-fi’ system.
Impressive Technology
Inside the Neo iDSD there is the Burr-Brown DAC chipset that fuels the Neo iDSD‘s ‘digital engine’. This is combined with an improved low-latency 16-core, XMOS microcontroller that processes the data via USB and S/PDIF digital inputs. What this does compared with the current generation of eight-core chips is double the clock speed (2000MIPS) and provides four times the memory (512KB).
Wireless Bluetooth Support
One of the many impressive features of the NEO iDSD is that remembers up to 7 devices and has impressive range on Bluetooth 5.0. This is because of Qualcomm QCC5100 5.0 Bluetooth chipset, which is compatible with the majority of formats such as: aptx, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX LL, AAC and SBC. Even LDAC and HWA LHDC audio codecs are supported, which take Bluetooth performance closer to FLAC quality levels, this is perfect for listening to digital music to the highest quality.
