Product Description
Jamo S7-27F speakers are the flagship model in the S7 range an ideal choice for larger rooms. These speakers are designed to offer great sound quality with music or movies. Deep bass is produced by two 7” (17.8cm) drivers while the sweet treble is managed by a 1” tweeter. The tweeter features a copper Faraday ring that reduces distortion. While the cabinet sits on a tilted plinth and has rounded corners to reduce resonance. Two Nordic influenced cabinet colour options are available.
Innovative New Tweeter Design
The new 1” tweeter features a copper Faraday ring that reduces non-linear distortion and increases sensitivity. The tweeter is made of a fabric that has improved distortion characteristics and gives a wide bandwidth. As a result, the sound is detailed but not tiring. Jamo has optimised the High Frequency Waveguide using their exclusive design software. Many hours of testing have gone into ensuring that the tweeter gives great reliability and performance.
Deep Bass and Low Distortion Drivers
Embossed paper cones are used for the bass drivers, these feature “Thors Hammer” detailing. This enhances rigidity so that the transient response is improved, resulting in snappy bass. Aluminium inductance shorting rings are used in high-strength motor assemblies to improve power handling and lower distortion.
Tilted Cabinets for New Sound Experience
The Jamo S7-27F has a 7-degree tilted cabinet that houses the crossover in the plinth. The tilt ensures a coherent sound stage by aligning the timing between the bass units and the tweeter. Additionally, the rounded edges of the cabinets reduce resonance and diffraction. Sound waves from the speaker driver travel across the baffle and are reflected back from a hard cabinet edge into the speaker, causing distortion. Having a rounded edge dissipates this energy preventing the sound from being coloured.
Excellent Detail
The Jamo S7 series, have a thicker than-usual cabinet wall of 15mm MDF with an 18mm front baffle. This coupled with critical bracing makes for a more rigid cabinet. This is designed for a low level of self-noise or resonance. In this way, more low-level detail is revealed.
High-Quality Crossovers
The speaker plinth houses the crossover. This keeps the large magnets of the bass drivers away from the inductors used in the crossover, reducing interference. The topology of the component layout and the components themselves have been carefully considered. Mylar and non-polarized electrolytic capacitors are coupled with iron and air core inductors to create a perfect blend of high and low frequencies. In this way, the transparency of the music is maintained
Scandinavian Inspired Cabinets
Two cabinet colours are available inspired by Nordic nature. Dark blue mimics the blue of a Norwegian Fjord while grey is like the fog hanging over a Finnish forest. Grey will go with any décor while blue adds a touch of emotion.
