Product Description
KEF LS50 Wireless Nocturne by Marcel Wanders Speakers is a stunning new design for the award-winning model which have already received an excellent reception at the exclusive launch event in Amsterdam as well as the exclusive showing at the Hi-Fi Show Live in Windsor.
The LS50 Pedigree
KEF LS50 Wireless has, since its inception, changing expectations of what can be achieved by wireless streaming and high-level audio performance from a compact and beautiful design. Now, in collaboration with the globally renowned Marcel Wanders, they have produced a special edition of the LS50 Wireless called ‘ Nocturne'. The sensual aesthetic of these special edition speakers will create a highly irresistible audio system that is surely in a class of its own.
Nocturne edition has all of the amazing audiophile beneficial features of the award-winning LS50 speakers, such as the FEA designed cabinet, and the Uni-Q driver, The cabinet has the same dampening bracing, with the curved baffle, and the elliptical port. The cabinet features prevent cabinet vibrations, unwanted resonance, and any discolouration.
Impressive Before the Music Begins
The rhythmic design, takes its inspiration from the spherical arrangement of time, and reveals a structured, architectural pattern from a distance. Studying the speakers, you will notice that the two-dimensional textured surface shows many different types of musical elements. Placed around the central point, musical notes and symbols references add to the profoundly meaningful and detailed design.
Similar to a musical score, the final design reveals the surface shapes coming together to as one coherent whole, just as the individual harmonics become one auditory object. Playing off the name, it captivates late into the evening as selected glow-in-the-dark elements of the design are revealed when the lights are dimmed and the speakers subject to a blue UV light.

The signal path with the LS50's is 192kHz/24-bit resolution throughout, giving you complete high-resolution audio. The speaker features a DAC per channel, a pre-amplifier for streaming, and an optimised 230-watt double amplification in a bi-amplifier dual mono arrangement means the LS50 is a complete wireless music system. The LS50 is versatile with regards to connectivity, it supports 2.4GHz/5GHz dual-band for a wireless network, Bluetooth 4.0 AptX for hi-res streaming, a USB Type B, an optical TOSLINK, and an RCA Analog socket. Plus, the LS50 wireless has a dedicated app which works with both Apple iOS and Android, so network setup, music streaming, playback and control are all adjustable from your smartphone or tablet.
LS50 Wireless
LS50 Wireless is a total and fully active music system built for to accomadate the change in how high-res music is enjoyed. This special edition speaker has been created from the award-winning LS50 speakers and has the same winning features, so you can enjoy the exceptional sound quality that was previously only available with a wired speaker setup.

Uni-Q Taken to the Next Level
The high and low-frequency components of a sound source should arrive at your ears in synchrony. Perfect synchronous alignment was previously only possible in theory, so true and accurate sound could only be heard within a small central 'sweet spot'. The wireless LS50 uses an advanced DSP time correcting crossover and the exclusive sound dispersion abilities of Uni-Q driver, so the listener can perceive an accurate sound irrespective of the room type. We feel that sound representation is so accurate with the wireless LS50 that it cannot be matched by any other active speaker available.

'That beautifully built and finished enclosure is the same as the passive version… We don’t tend to talk much about ports, but the one here is unusual in that it’s flexible in a bid to reduce distortion.' (What Hi-Fi Magazine July 2017)
-
'The LS50 Wirelesses sound clean and precise. They dig up so much detail and deliver it in an organised and stable manner. We’re struck by the KEF’s subtlety and their ability to generate strong dynamic shifts without stress.' (What Hi-Fi Magazine July 2017)
-
'These are small speakers but they manage to fill our medium sized listening room with high volume levels… they render a lovely, expansive soundstage that’s neatly layered and nicely defined. Once set-up properly we think KEF’s engineers have struck a really nice tonal balance. It’s even-handed yet refined enough to make the most of less than optimal recordings or sources. ' (What Hi-Fi Magazine July 2017)
-
'These aren’t big speakers so you won’t get really deep floor shaking bass, but they generate low frequencies that are taut, articulate and punchy… The good news continues higher up the range with a transparent and fluid midrange and insightful highs. Vocals are delivered with passion while percussion comes through with bite and composure.' (What Hi-Fi Magazine July 2017)
-
'The LS50 Wirelesses are rhythmic too, delivering the song’s unmistakable momentum with determination. They never sound too pushy either, allowing the song’s natural flow to come through.' (What Hi-Fi Magazine July 2017)
-
'Overall, these speakers have the insight to unravel a recording yet never go so far as to tear the music apart. They’re informative but always musical with it. KEF has done a terrific job here. It has taken the award-winning LS50s and made them an even better proposition… Is this what the hi-fi system of the future should look like? We certainly hope so.'
