Product Description
KEF Reference 4 Meta centre speaker is the larger option in this latest Reference Meta range and is well matched to Reference 1 Meta, Reference 3 Meta and/or Reference 5 Meta in a multi channel setup along with the KEF Reference 8c subwoofer.
In 2022, KEF on their infinite quest for audiological perfection have found a pinnacle in centre speaker design with Reference 4 Meta that takes your audio and cinematic experience on a whole new journey.
A New World
The Reference 4 Meta represents a pivotal moment in audio design that takes ques from the past but brings you back to the future with an all new 12th Generation Uni-Q driver array which has been combined with an all new MAT (Metamaterial Absorption Technology) built in to deliver a step change in your listening experience
Centre Design
KEF has again raised the bar in the design of their reference range and the Reference 4 Meta is not going to be an exception to this with a sleek and stylish look (with a choice of finishes) that are handmade in the UK by master craftsman allow you to truly match your system to the décor of the room without any compromise on style or taste.
New Horizons
This centre channel speaker opens up to a new set of horizons with the introduction of KEF’s game changing Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) which is designed in an maze pattern to deliver absorption of 99% from the rear of the drive units – effectively eliminating distortion which can ruin any good listening experience, all whilst maintaining a standard that sets KEF apart from anyone else in class.
A New Drive Train
Driving the KEF Reference 4 Meta is 6 drivers that deliver a frequency response of 48Hz to 35kHz (+/-3dB) to enable every single sinew of audio is represented accurately and as nature intended. The high frequency is taken care of by a single 25mm (1”) aluminium dome (with MAT) that is poised and precise in it's representation, the mid frequency spectrum is handled by a 125mm (6”) aluminium cone unit that gives rich and soothing mids without compromising on the lower end where the quad 165mm (6.5”) aluminium cone drivers take over proceedings to deliver that rumbling bass which you will adore when watching a good film.
Well Matched
We recommend using Reference 4 Meta with the latest Meta range speakers, but it will also match well with the prior KEF Reference range if you are planning on expanding this to multi channel. Either way, we recommend matching this centre to Reference speakers for well integrated speaker matching.
With technology and performance like that, you would think this unit requires a lot of amplification…well you would be wrong as the Reference 4 Meta only consumes 50-400W of power at any one time meaning that your amp will love this unit as much as you love hearing it.
