Product Description
The Linn LP12-50 Limited Edition Turntable has been issued to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this iconic turntable. As a limited edition, it has been designed in collaboration with the creative collective LoveFrom. This is the best-sounding turntable Linn has ever achieved and this is coupled with visual and tactile design by Sir Jony Ive and his team at LoveFrom. New design elements include the speed control and cover hinges. While the internals feature the latest platter and motor technology. The key new item with the limited edition is the Bedrok™ plinth.
All new Bedrok™ plinth
The new plinth design of the Linn LP12-50 Limited Edition Turntable features orthogonal layers of beech placed under extreme pressure. The result is a new type of solid and massive material. This ultra-dense wood has negligible resonance and offers a superior isolated housing for the motor and tonearm.
New design elements
New design elements with the Linn LP12-50 Limited Edition Turntable include a machined power/speed control with illumined indicators. This provides lightweight interaction with the turntable. Moreover, the hinges that hold the acrylic dust cover in place have also been redesigned. Notably, there is also a limited edition plaque. Only 250 of this beautiful piece have been produced.
The latest LP12
The technology used by the Linn LP12-50 Limited Edition Turntable includes the latest hyper-accurate speed control technology along with a whisper-quiet power supply. There is also a cutting-edge motor design.
The LP 12, History
Production of the LP 12 began in 1973 and it has been manufactured ever since. The LP 12 rapidly gained a reputation for sound quality and remains an industry reference standard. Over 100,000 have been produced. However, with the 50th-anniversary edition, only 250 have been made. The key to the LP12's success is sound quality and upgradeability.
