Product Description
Mission QX-4 MKII 2-way speakers are the mid-sized floor-standing speaker in the QX-MK II range. The QX-4 MK II includes a 6.5” bass driver alongside an updated ring dome treble unit. The QX-4 MKII has refined the design and manufacturing of the previous Mission LX MKII series and optimised an already flawless design, resulting in an even more impressive speaker range.
In the latest QX range, Mission have utilised modern speaker design tools to enhance the range to the absolute best of their abilities. Some of the improvements include crossover modelling and fine-tuning, laser interferometry and computer-aided optimisation tech. The components, materials, crossovers and construction have all been relentlessly poured over as well, to achieve the best performance possible.
Re-Imagined Drivers
The acrylic fibre material used for the drivers is rigid and withstanding, yet delicate in appearance. The use of this material for the drivers is unique in this price range, with other similar speakers usually opting for a material that may produce harsher sounds, the drivers produce life-like mid-range frequencies and incredible detail with the addition of the acrylic fibre component. The QX-4 MKII drivers are designed specifically to enhance the timing and transient impact.
Upgraded Aesthetic Aluminium Top Plate
The top plate for the QX-4 MKII is made of high-quality, sturdy aluminium material. The top plate pairs beautifully with the classic Walnut Pearl finish and the latest luxury finish options. The top plate has been created with cabinet structure in mind as well as enhancing the cabinets overall performance.
Ring of Fire
The QX-4 MKII completely forgoes an ongoing physics issue in the design of conventional domes. By introducing a phase plug to the design, Mission has successfully extended high-frequency reproduction by preventing any cancellation across HF waves that are produced close to the diaphragm's centre. Traditional domes usually experience resonance that can have a negative impact and increase the risk of audio distortion. Thanks to this addition, you can enjoy the immensely improved performance in the 10kHz - 20kHz frequency range, with more detail and consistency.
QX-4 MK II Inverted Drive Geometry
The QX MKII range features the same IDG format as the other QX models in that the treble unit sits underneath the bass/midrange driver. This feature improves time alignment by equalising the length of path and resulting in the sound waves meeting where the listeners head would be.
Serrated Driver Surrounds
The new driver surrounds may look fantastic but the design goes much further than that. The surrounds utilise meticulous air-flow analysis and accurate measurement which results in a beautifully smooth performance from the drivers and ports.
