Naim NAP 250 DR Power Amplifier - Ex Demo

Naim NAP250 DR ex demo, used carefully in our showroom and only available due to the release of the new NAP 250 6th gen model. An excellent deal, this NAP 250 DR is an 80W per channel power amplifier and builds on the successes and innovations of Naim's NAP range. Naim NAP 250 provides speed, strength and dexterity with excellent detail and musicality in a package made to flourish for another thirty years.

For over three decades, NAP 250 has been at the core of numerous premium audio systems around the world. The extensive research undertaken for the NAP 500 uncovered many technical developments that were, along with elegant styling, successfully implemented in the NAP 250 resulting in a new Classic line-up.

Statement technology 

Naim's leading Statement amp system was a decade in the making. The research and development project drew on Naim's knowledge and expertise, yielding several breakthroughs in technology. Naim launched two fresh technologies from the Statement concept to the core range of power amplifiers. 

The NAP 250 DR has new NA009 transistors initially introduced in Statement. After a year in development, this key component was created in partnership with a specialist semi-conductor manufacturer to achieve optimum sound quality.

Discrete Regulator

250 also includes the high power Naim DR technology used in Statement to deliver the even, stable power supply that is critical for audio electronics to bring music to life. These dual technologies, combined with other minor improvements to layout and components, allows the unit to produce even more of the vital musical pace, rhythm and timing that music lovers favoured in the originals.

Like the flagship NAP 500 DR, and the NAP 300 DR, the NAP 250 DRuses a new circuit design with improved earthing arrangements, built on a very high quality, anti-resonance main audio circuit board. The NAP 250 uses the same 007 transistors that were custom-designed for the NAP 500. These outstanding components each provide up to 80 amps and 350 Watts, negating the need to use parallel pairs of transistors (which always have a negative effect on sound). Additional 007 transistors are used in the fully regulated power supply, ensuring the very best performance.

Anti-vibration, resonance-controlling feet serve to protect the sensitive internal components from resonance and microphonic vibration.

A new top-quality transformer is used providing the ability to deliver more than 15 Amps and swing a massive 400VA on transients. The NAP 250 is stable into any load and able to drive a 2-Ohm load for long periods of time.
