Naim Uniti Atom All-in-One System with HDMI

Naim’s Uniti Atom is an all-purpose system superseding the award-winning Uniti Qute 2, it incorporates UPnP, a concealed wifi antennae, amplification and colour display in a single unit. We also sell the Uniti Star and Nova models.

Music Streaming

Naim's latest distinguished streaming board is a co-design presenting Naim's architectural philosophies in an existing design to reduce development time for this 8-layer board and to assure approval of diverse key features.

Naim's research indicates more customers even of its NDS high-end streamer are choosing to use Tidal and Spotify. Partnering allowed Naim to add its expertise in audio board layout and also to move the digital connectivity to I2S over LVDS meaning the digital signal has the benefit of a separate clock signal resulting in lower jitter and excellent audio performance.

The Atom can also be updated to allow access to Tidal Connect, which allows the system to stream music directly from the Tidal app. In addition to Tidal and Spotify Connect, you can enjoy using Atom to listen to music via Airplay, Bluetooth (aptX HD), Internet Radio, UPnP and its also Roon Ready.

A/B Class Amplification

Atom's Class AB amplification is built upon Naim's experience developing the excellent NAIT integrated amplifiers. A/B is pricey to implement properly and has many procedural limits to overcome particularly in highly crammed cases but in spite of these trials, it was selected to offer top audio performance.

Large transformers have been added to the power amp sections and flow from linear power supplies. The power supply for these sections is also enlarged to the biggest linear size that fits. 40W may not sound like much but with this design, Atom is capable of properly driving most bookshelf speakers and many floorstanders as well.

DSP & DAC

The new Atom features an incredibly powerful new 4th Generation 40-bit SHARC DSP processor, the ADSP 21489 capable of 2700 MFLOPS running at 450Mhz. 

The SHARC processor features Naim’s RAM buffer (introduced in the DAC/NDS and called 0 S/PDIF) then 16 x oversampling and digital filtering with Naim written software in the DSP. This bypasses the digital filter part in the Burr Brown DACS for consequential sound quality improvements.

Like the other new Uniti players, Atom employs a premium Burr Brown DAC and analogue filter region and output stages made from top-quality components as in the corresponding preamp units. Using an extremely powerful SHARC also allows for future updates both in performance, formats and features.

Volume Control

Uniti Atom has a digitally controlled analogue volume control providing an interface directly with the smooth and beautifully illuminated top surface volume control, first conceived for Statement. You can either use this volume control on the unit or can of course control volume via the backlit remote control.

Control App

Uniti Atom is controllable via the included remote control or the Naim Control app for iOS and Android. If you have other Naim streaming products on the same network, you can select rooms and enable party mode directly from the app. The updated Uniti series drastically upgrades the original range via the wireless update feature. The app alerts users when updates become available and once accepted will launch seamlessly.

HDMI Audio Return

HDMI transmits video, audio and control signals via digital technology. Plug a HDMI cable from the TV’s HDMI ARC connector to the Uniti and whichever input on the TV is selected the TV sound will be sent digitally to the Uniti for decoding (PCM Stereo) and playback. It will also transmit TV-remote commands to control Atom’s volume and simplify the process for the entire family to use.

Uniti Atom will turn on when the TV does and automatically chooses the HDMI ARC input. The HDMI inputs use galvanic isolation to guarantee noise from the TV power supply or other connected devices do not degrade the Uniti’s performance when playing any sourc

Materials & Fabrication

For peak operation, Naim’s design approach incorporates the four engineering principles; circuitry, space, focused materiality and technology. Each part is rolled or extruded then CNC machined for complete precision. The substantial side heat sinks present in all Uniti products are directly coupled to the individual product floor pans to provide excellent thermal contact and heat transfer. Heat is eliminated rapidly and efficiently from the circuitry especially when operating under heavy loads. Thermal solidity guarantees the consistency and long durability crucial to Naim design. Thick aluminium walls absorb surplus vibrations to shield the core inner parts from damaging magnetic effects. Even the circuit board’s chassis mounting is regulated to limit the microphony effects on components.

New Look Design

Naim has been refining the simplistic pure design of its electronics for over four decades and the Uniti all-in-one players aim to raise the standard of each feature and design piece. The heatsinks are caught within the whole footprint and the logo bar fixed into the base leading to an aesthetically clean enclosure built to highest precision. Designed and built for years of musical pleasure whilst staying in tune with the demands of current music-lovers.

Hidden Antennae

New Uniti Atom uses antennae to connect to various sources. Naim engineered a system of housing flat aerials into a specially machined slot in the heatsinks at the side of the machine. A supplementary Bluetooth antenna is supplied beneath the central dial. The end result of both of these features is a seamless aesthetic that doesn’t lose any of the connectivity that Naim strove for.

State of Art Wi-Fi

New Uniti Atom has noticeably superior Wi-Fi capability that has greater stability and performs five times quicker than the original platform. The Wi-Fi processor supports 2.4 and 5GHz speeds making it the best in the market. Alongside this, all have a much larger internal buffer and memory resulting in far fewer dropouts compared to the old platform that could only store up to a minute's worth at CD data rates. The Uniti structures have a proprietary hidden and integrated Wi-Fi aerial behind a slot in the heatsink sandwiched between the fins.

Full Colour Displays

Uniti aims to host full connection to the user’s music library. An ultra-high grade full-colour display presents album artwork and content. The screens have proximity sensors to wake up on approach, display music data, audio input and more. There is also a selection of front panel buttons including Favourites, Stop and Play. Inner databases enable easy transmission of music to your favoured storage device. Uniti Atom incorporates an option to plug in a USB CD-ROM drive and rip to an HDD in the other USB socket. The database has a limit of 20,000 tracks.
