Ortofon ST-M25 is a MC transformer designed exclusively to raise the voltage output for the SPU Mono CG 25 Di MkII and SPU Mono CG 65 Di MkII cartridges.
Why the ST-M25?
The voltage output of the SPU Mono CG 25 Di MkII and the SPU Mono CG 65 di MkII cartridges are too low to connect to the MM-INPUT terminal of amplifiers or phono-EQ because it results in a lower sound volume. That’s why the ST-M25 MC transformer is here, to increase voltage by 12dB to match that of a moving-magnet (MM) input.
These two cartridges provide the same monaural sound from both L & R channels; therefore the L & R channels of the cartridges should be connected through the ST-M25 transformer, then the amplifier, then to the final output (L & R speakers) to enjoy the top performance of monaural sound coming from your speakers.
