Product Description
With the resurgence of audiophile-quality headphones, music lovers around the world are turning away from earbuds and enjoying music once again through high-end headphones with their digital players.
Now that such a broad range of digital music players and high-quality headphones are available, the real challenge became the trend for amplifiers to lose their headphone socket as more and more listeners move to small format digital listening.
Pathos designers faced this new challenge head on, asking themselves 'can we squeeze our very best quality and technology into a few cubic centimetres?'
The result is the newest Aurium Headphone Amp.
Pure class A, tube pre-stage and MOS-FET power stage, zero feedback, the Aurium performs what audiophiles are used to from Pathos: exquisite musicality, transparency, dynamics and total lack of listening fatigue.
Flexibility is granted by the possibility to adjust output impedance from 16 to 1,000 Ohm, in order to provide a perfect interface with any kind of headphone. The volume control - a critical component in every amp - is operated by means of a high precision Burr-Brown device.
What Hi-Fi? reviewed the Aurium favourably, highlighting the insightful midrange, excellent build quality and versatility, with no negatives - praise indeed for Pathos.
