Product Description
Grado RS1x headphones are built out of wood because of its warm and embracing tonal abilities. The Grado RS1x headphone is made from three different types of wood, a maple sleeve, hemp core and cocobolo outer ring which is no simple task but the reward is a headphone that brings a new level of sound.
Signature Sound
The three woods work with Grados new 50 X Driver to deliver new heights to their signature sound. The maple does most of the work while the hemp smooths everything out and the cocobolo adds an extra punch to the sound. Combined the result is a truly defined, full bodied soundscape.
X Series Drivers
Grado RS1x are the first headphones to be built with Grado’s new 50 X Drivers and have been specifically tuned for the wooden design of the RS1x. Grado have also reengineered the magnetic circuit and voice coil and reconfigured the diaphragm for the RS1x. This improves the efficiency of the 50x drivers, preserves sound quality and reduces distortion.
New Cable & Headbands
Grado RS1x headband now features a black leather headband with white stitch accent and the cable is now housed in a more durable, super annealed copper 8-conductor which brings out even more of your music.
Hand Build in Brooklyn
John Grado built Grado’s first wooden headphone at his Brooklyn workbench back in 1994 and wood has been a staple at their workbenches ever since. Each RS1x is handmade in Brooklyn to this day and Grado’s decades of experience means that excellence is guaranteed.
