Pro-Ject X1 Turntable-Black-Pro-Ject Pick It S2 - Ex Display

This Pro-Ject X1 turntable was on display in our store and was barely out for long before we replaced it with the latest X1 B model - which is very much the same but adds balanced connectivity. If you don't mind that this original model doesn't include the balanced connection, this is an excellent deal on this fantastic turntable pre-fitted with Pro-Ject Pick It S2 cartridge in the stylish black finish.

Design

X1 has an over-sized, heavyweight MDF construction. A complex DC/AC board is housed within the plinth which combines with the speed control circuit to conveniently provide pure and stable power to the silent motor. For even greater performance, the motor is decoupled from the central plinth via a new motor suspension mechanism.

Motor

The motor pushes a custom, heavy, non-resonant Acryl platter using a sub-platter drive system and a high-grade main bearing for fluid smooth rotation. This is the ideal platform for your precious vinyl records ensuring complete reliability in its performance and acoustic character.

Tonearm

X1 updates its predecessors with rigid, seamlessly tempered Carbon/Alu sandwich tonearm inspired by The Classic turntable. This new 8.6” design is very light and sturdy, with better resistance to external interference. Finished as a single-piece, with no resonance-inducing headshell, the X1 tonearm can also be tweaked for precise azimuth and VTA settings enabling advanced analogue audiophiles to refine more than ever before. The tonearm incorporates a TPE-damped counterweight for lower cartridge/tonearm resonances.

Accessories

Available with a new Pro-Ject Pick-IT S2 MM cartridge as standard, built by the cartridge experts at Ortofon led by the design team at Pro-Ject, it is primed to play within minutes of unboxing. A pair of Connect-IT E RCA cables are included, this semi-balanced, low-capacitance cable has superior shielding optimized for turntable use. The turntable is placed on three height-adjustable, decoupling Alu/TPE sandwich feet for greater isolation from the chassis it’s placed upon. An acrylic dust cover is provided to ensure security when not in use.
