Product Description
Reloop Turn3 turntable is a high quality design, featuring three easily selectable speeds and a USB connection, making it easy to digitise your Record collection, including 78’s (with suitable cartridge).
It is a mid-priced unit with lots of useful features. Such as a built-in phono stage and adjustable anti-skate. Reloop are a market leader in DJ turntables and accessories. The Turn3 uses all of their experience to make a turntable for music enthusiasts and sound purists.
Three speeds and electronic speed control
The Turn3 is belt driven, by a low vibration DC motor. This keeps any noise to minimum. The speed selection knob makes it easy to set the speed with no fuss. You can also play 78’s with a suitable stylus. Belt drives are recommended, as they decouple the motor from the platter. As a result, there less vibration and the sound is cleaner. Direct drive turntables offer faster start-up, but higher noise.
Precision tone arm with anti-skate wheel
The precision tonearm has been specially designed for the Turn3. As a result, it offers optimal tracking performance for superior sound. Furthermore, there is an anti-skating adjustment wheel that allows you to set the value, depending on the type of stylus used. Changing the cartridge is a breeze, with the plugin headshell. As a result, you can keep a dedicated 78 rpm cartridge handy.
Easy digitisation with the USB connection
The USB connection makes it easy to connect the Turn3 to a computer. Consequently, you can digitise your record collection, using free software, such as Audacity. This will allow you to remove clicks and noise from old records. 78 rpm records have a larger groove size than LPs, and need a bigger stylus tip. The way shellac records are cut is also different. They are cut laterally meaning that the music information moves the stylus from side to side. As a result, too small a stylus will drag on the bottom of the groove creating a lot of surface noise.
The turntable is semi-automatic and will stop automatically at the end of a record. This can also be deactivated.
Heavy aluminium platter with rubber coating
The Turn3 has a heavy aluminium plater that provides a solid and smooth platform for the record. There is also additional rubber damping beneath the plater. This reduces resonance as well as increasing mass. The result is a very silent running unit. There is also set of shock absorbing feet fitted, to further reduce vibration
Attractive piano black finish
The shiny black piano finish complements the black tonearm and platter. The platter is made of strong MDF and has good sound characteristics. The turntable comes complete with a fitted Ortofon 2M Red pick-up system. This is great for LP’s and 45’s. The 2M Red is the ultimate in introductory cartridges. It is affordable and has superior sound. Moreover, the stylus is interchangeable with the rest of the 2M range. Finally, there is a 78rpm stylus available for this cartridge.
Gold plated connections and built in phono pre-amp
The Turn3 is a versatile unit with gold plated connections and a built in phono preamp. The preamp can be switched out, and the RCA connections, means that there are no trailing leads. As a result, you can connect directly to an amplifier that does not have a phono stage. LP’s and 45’s are recorded with equalisation. As a result, they need to be played back through a high-gain preamplifier, that has the correct bass boost and treble cut. This then gives a flat frequency response. Bass cut is applied, by the cutting engineer, to reduce the risk of groove over-modulation, while treble boost is applied to reduce surface noise.
