Product Description
TEAC PE-505 is a phono preamplifier designed to get the best sound from your turntable and vinyl collection. Contained in a compact unit, the PE-505 is well suited to a variety of phono cartridges and also has the ability to adjust settings to appropriately deal with the many different records you have.
It supports both balanced (MC) and unbalanced (MM/MC) inputs and comes in both black and silver finishes.
Right Sound for the Right Record
TEAC’s goal with the PE-505 is to accurately reproduce the original intent of the recording producers. To do this the PE 505 will amplify the records, including even the faintest of signals, process them without colouration, and then deliver them faithfully in order to keep you as close to the original sound as possible.
For extra authenticity, the PE-505’s phono stage has a knob for selecting the RIAA correction circuit, as well as old EQ curves reportedly used on Deca and Columbia classic vinyl releases. This effectively allows you to adjust the tone of the amplifier to best suit certain records.
Versatility with Turntables
The PE 505 has a dual mono phono stage that supports balanced (MC) and unbalanced (MM/MC) inputs from your turntable. There's also control for adjusting load impedance (10, 22, 47, 100, 220, 470, 1kΩ) and capacity (0, 100, 220, 330pF) to suit your cartridge, and a mono output function.
