Product Description
The Marantz CD50N CD Player is the best featured of the non-SACD players in the Marantz range. It reveals the finest details in today's high-resolution digital audio files. HEOS is built so you can enjoy digital music from any source. The key feature of this player is its streaming capability. Play your hi-res files at up to PCM 384 KHz/32 bit and DSD 128. Lastly, the Marantz CD50N CD Player is designed to go with the Marantz Model 50 Integrated Amplifier and has a similar design aesthetic.
HEOS controller app built-in
HEOS is a popular controller app built into the Marantz CD50N CD player. As a result, you can stream using Airplay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal, and TuneIn radio as well as many other services. Moreover, the unit has a built-in HDMI socket with ARC which allows you to input the sound from your TV and use the built-in, high-quality DAC for playback. Lastly, the built-in top-quality CD drive will allow you to hear all of the details from your CD collection, that you may have missed before.
Control the output volume with HEOS and the remote control
Unusually for a CD player the Marantz CD50N has a built-in digital preamp. This allows you to control the output volume with the HEOS app or the provided remote control. There is a dedicated output for this that can be used to connect directly to an amplifier unit that has no volume control.
Excellent Connectivity
The Marantz CD50N CD Player has a wide range of connection options. There are two RCA line-level outputs, one of which can have its output volume controlled by the remote control. There is also a USB as well as an Ethernet cable socket. WI-FI is built in. Digital inputs include an optical as well as a coaxial input. Moreover, there is a USB input just to feed a direct signal to the DAC. Lastly, there are user-selectable digital filters that can be used to fine-tune the sound depending on the source.
Why CD players?
Many people still have large collections of CDs and they provide a great source of uncompressed music. However today most music is streamed and with the Marantz CD50N CD Player you get the best of both worlds, with excellent streaming capability along with a CD drive and remote control.
