Product Description
The Marantz CD6007 CD player is the best value player in the range yet boasts some top-of-the-line features. Marantz have developed a range of circuit modules using discrete components. These have improved performance over traditional circuits.
Additionally, the power supply has been upgraded. It is now more stable and maintains the sound quality even at a high output. A USB socket makes this a versatile unit able to play hi-res DSD files from a USB stick. Lastly, you can connect an external DAC via the optical and coaxial digital outputs.
Marantz low-noise circuit boards
The new circuit boards in the Marantz CD6007 CD player, use discrete components. These replace traditional op-amps and have superior performance. The left and right signal paths have been mirror images for better noise and slew rate performance. As a result, the sound is more dynamic and accurate. Also, the HDAM-SA2 circuit improves on previous HDAM power supply modules. It is more stable at high loads and the power transistor temperatures do not affect the performance.
Hi-res D/A conversion
The digital-to-analogue converter forms the heart of any CD player and the Marantz CD6007 CD player has a reference class unit. It is capable of 192kHz/24-bit resolution and DSD at 5.6Mhz. This provides optimal playback with tight bass, pleasant mids, and smooth highs. Also, playback can also be from a USB stick as well as CDs. There are also two selectable filter options.
Stable low-noise power supply.
The power supply used by the Marantz CD6007 CD player used high speed, high current Schottky Barrier Diodes. these improve the transient response. Additionally, the size of the reservoir capacitors has been increased by 120% over previous models. This offers more current capability as well as less AC noise.
A quality headphone amp
For personal listening, the Marantz CD6007 CD player features an upgraded amplifier. This uses the HDAM-SA2 circuit with three gain settings (Low/Mid/High). This will then match virtually any type of headphones.
Connectivity.
The Marantz CD6007 CD player has quality gold-plated RCA connectors for connection to a standard amplifier. Additionally, you can connect an external DAC to either an optical or coaxial output. These outputs can also be connected to integrated amplifiers and streamers with a digital input.
Why CDs?
CDs are still a very high-quality playback option. They are not compressed and cheaply available. Moreover, most people have a CD collection that needs a new lease on life. Marantz also makes SACD players that offers hi-res playback from a disc.
