Product Description
Pioneer VSX-LX305 is a nine channel AV receiver that will bring high quality multi channel performance into your viewing experience at a very competitive price point. It is great for movies, music and gaming and will become the switching centre for all your audio and video sources. Additionally, it has Durac Live room correction that monitors the sound and corrects any errors caused by the room itself.
This top-end AV receiver can be used to create a Surround sound system upto 9.2.1. Advanced features include voice control and bi-directional Bluetooth connectivity. Also includes a built-in AM/FM tuner and phono preamp for turntables. Connectivity is good with many audio and video inputs meaning that you will not need to change leads.
What is 9.2.1 channel surround sound?
With 9.2.1 surround sound you normally have three speakers at the front (a left, right and centre speaker), two front wides, two on the sides, two in the rear (9), a subwoofer (1) and two ceiling speakers for Atmos (2). This recreates the surround sound system used by cinemas, for an immersive 3D experience.
HDMI enhancements
There are two HDMI output options as well as uncompressed 8K/4K video transfers at 40Gbps. This is an increase in bandwidth over the previous version of this AV receiver. The HDMI inputs can handle 4K and 8K video with 10 or 12 bit sampling rates, for the chroma. Bit depth ranges from 4:2:2 to 4:2:0 so most formats are supported. The inputs are all HDMI 2.1 with Variable refresh rates to eliminate lag, stutter and frame tearing.
IMAX enhanced
IMAX enhanced is a format and certification scheme that delivers a better aspect ratio with smaller black bars than other formats. It ensures that the image and sound are as intended by the filmmakers. There are an increasing number of titles appearing in this format
Dolby Atmos compatibility
The pioneer VSX-LX305 can make the best of Dolby Atmos, the latest cinema format for 3D immersive sound. It can accurately reproduce object-oriented sound with smooth movement across the soundscape. This includes sounds that go overhead. Additionally, other sound codecs such as PCM and DSD are upmixed to produce a surround sound effect. This can also be done with DTS.
Height virtualization
If all of the height speakers are not used there is a Dolby Atmos height virtualizer that will simulate the missing height information using a more traditional speaker setup.
Advanced MCACC auto room correction
Your listening room can affect the sound of a system. As a result Phase shifts between speakers can reduce bass impact and treble clarity. The VSX-LX305 uses an advanced active system to monitor and correct any phase errors between the front and rear speakers. It also suppresses any standing waves that occur as sound bounces off the walls and ceiling. There is real-time analysis and you can store up to nine locations. As a result, the sound will always be the best it can be.
Great connectivity
Digital inputs include coaxial and optical inputs as well as USB, Wired ethernet and Wi-Fi. Video inputs include six HDMI inputs as well as two outputs. There is also an output for a second zone. There are five analogue RCA inputs including an input for a magnetic cartridge turntable. A bonus is the built-in forty pre-set AM/FM tuner. This has an aerial socket on the back. Additionally, there are two line-level subwoofer outputs. The speaker outputs use the standard 4mm connectors that can take plugs spade terminals are bare wire. Voice control
The VSX-LX305 can be voice controlled using Hey Google. In this way music services supported by Chromecast can be voice controlled by using a Goggle assistant enabled device. You can play, stop, skip or control the volume by voice command. This receiver also works with Alexa. As a result, you can control the unit without needing the remote or smartphone app.
High quality bi-directional Bluetooth
Another useful feature of this Pioneer AV receiver is bi-directional Bluetooth. Not only does it have a hi-res Bluetooth receiver but it can transmit to Bluetooth headphones.
