Product Description
Unison Research Unico Due is not just a CD player but combines a high-level DAC with a top-end CD mechanism. It’s feature-rich, flexible and customisable to the listener’s preference.
A variety of external sources can be connected to the Unico CD Due, including a laptop or computer for playing all known audio formats including DSD via USB.
High End DAC
CD Due is both a high-end DAC and CD player that has been developed through extensive listening sessions and meticulous R&D. It combines Unison Research’s high-end sound quality with digital audio inputs to give a truly versatile solution to anyone wanting a powerful but simple to use system.
Connections
The Unico CD Due features USB, S/PDIF, AES/EBU and Toslink inputs supporting 24-bit/192kHz (24-bit/96kHz via the optical input). AptX Bluetooth is also included allowing for music playback from any compatible Smartphone, tablet or computer. On the rear of the CD Due Coaxial S/PDIF, balanced AES/EBU and optical Toslink outputs are available as well as unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR. With the use of an Apple Lightning to USB connector (not included), you can plug your iPhone/iPod/iPad directly into the CD Due's DAC and play your hi-res music files straight from your device.
Pure Class A
In true Unison Research style, the output stage uses four ECC83 valves in the innovative Double Triode, pure class A differential totem-pole configuration (as seen in the Unico 150 and 90 Amplifiers). This reduces the possibility of noise from the power supply and gives the triode sound with the drive of a cathode follower.
Graphic Display
The new 128 x 64 graphical display uses white OLED technology giving excellent visibility in all lighting conditions and from all angles. The display will show you all the data you need with the most important in large text on the top line with any other information in smaller text on the bottom line. The display can be turned off using the ‘Display’ function on the remote allowing for listening without illumination.
Design
The CD drive comprises of a sleek design encased in a thick metal shield isolating it from the rest of the circuitry while remaining aesthetically pleasing. The Unico CD Due is available with a premium sand-blasted Silver fascia (black fascia available to special order).
