Product Description
HiFi Man Arya Organic headphones are the latest version of the Arya model, an excellent choice offering much higher end performance than we would expect at this level.
A newly designed planar magnetic driver is used, with improved performance and higher sensitivity. They feature acoustically invisible magnets on either side of the diaphragms. This is designed to deliver a smooth and detailed sound. The high sensitivity means that they can be driven by most portable players.
These latest drivers result in a wide frequency response from 5hz to 55kHz.
Planar magnetic drivers
The Arya Organic Planar headphones should offer lower distortion and a better transient response than conventional drivers. Notably, the voice coil is attached to the surface of the diaphragm. The result is a uniform force that gives less phase distortion and less loss. Normal dynamic drive headphones use a type of transducer similar to a conventional speaker. These have a voice coil that is wound around a cylindrical former. The former then sits in a groove cut into the driver's magnet. The frequency response is less and the distortion higher. Planar drivers are therefore an excellent choice for critical listening with headphones.
Stealth magnet design
As mentioned above the driver magnet is normally mounted behind the driver cone. However, with the HiFi Man Arya Organic headphones, there are actually two magnets. In fact, the magnet assembly sits to either side of the diaphragm and is made up of carefully shaped strips. The strips allow the sound to pass through without any phase shift or distortion. The result should be a very smooth and responsive sound.
Luxury design
A window shade grill design is used for the HiFi Man Arya Organic Headphones. There are also asymmetrically designed, earcups that fit the shape of human ears. The headband is a hybrid design that is comfortable to wear and also durable.
They come fitted with a quality crystalline copper cable that is fitted with a 6.3mm stereo plug. This is not a balanced cable, but these headphones can be used with a balanced cable should you wish to upgrade the headphones cable in future. Finally, the earcups feature a red highlight and are made of leather-covered metal which is supremely comfortable.
Headphone connectors and cables
There is a wide range of balanced and unbalanced headphone cables available for headphones. The most common type is the 6.3mm stereo phone plug. These were originally used in telephone exchanges. Another type is the 3.5mm plug commonly used in portable players. Arya Organic Headphones have two 3.5mm input sockets, one in each earcup. The lead supplied is an unbalanced type, but the 3.5mm sockets that this attaches to mean this cable can be upgraded in future and they can be used with both balanced and unbalanced amplifiers.
Balanced headphone connectors
Balanced cables have a better noise performance than conventional leads, however, there are a lot of different connectors available. The first type is the 4.4mm five conductor type. These are of the tip and ring design. Next, there is a four-pin XLR type. You may also come across the standard 3-pin XLR connector, two are needed one for each channel. If you wish, the Arya Organic can be upgraded in future by using an aftermarket balanced headphones cable.
